Based on the true life story of David Helfgott. It begins with the early years of her possessive father roof. We discovered that this boy is really a child prodigy and talented pianist with a great future once it builds up the courage to break free of her father, even if not especially psychologically. Finally one day he makes his way to London. He will continue his mastery of the art at the Royal College of Music and later in his youth, which is trying its long dream of Rachmaninov Rach 5, which, basically, if you ask me sums up the life and that is why the next thing we know is that it has suffered an intense break. And it is really with the help of God that finally the tables turn, and the fact that no matter how cookoo seems that can not fail to feel really adorable. And, finally, find true love to him back on his feet again and leave the small bar where he found work as a pianist and gained new recognition, basically, back and return to the stage and the light where it belongs and that is another story.
I developed an appreciation for classical music after watching this movie. All the characters played by David Helfgott (different ages) were excellent, especially the actor who plays the adolescent Helfgott. A must for people who do not know their history. Rachmaninoff's concert at the end of the film, the results that precipitated the break Helfgott was exquisitely. I played again and again and still get chills when I hear it. Geoffrey Rush gives an impressive performance as the adult Helfgott and allows the viewer to understand the sensitivity of this brilliant pianist. In general, the three stages of the life of David Helfgott was portrayed by each of the actors in a way that lets you see how the effects of being driven by others, as well as driving a car, you can create instability, particularly in the sensitive, artistic mind.
David is a sensitive boy who has emotional problems due to his father, who acts as the master of your life. However, its sensitivity has also led the incredible ability to feel and live music as no one else can do. Few things are enough to make this endless happy child: bathing, playing and listening to music, and love of people around him, especially his beloved Gillian. I'm not an expert on film, so I can not explain how well they play or run. The only thing I can do is try to convey the emotions that this Shine movie gave me: I do not think a person susceptible to all, but every time I see I can not help but mourn ... I suggest everyone keep this DivX Movie Shine and see that every time we need to remember how social conventions often block us when we try to express our feelings and share our emotions. (I apologize for my terrible English:))
This Shine Romance movie was a very interesting and pleasant surprise, though sometimes the subject of driving a guy crazy obsessive father is too much work. However, it is a very well-made film. Geoffrey Rush is fascinating in the lead role as David Helfgott. " However, given equal prestige Noah Taylor, who played Helfgott as an adolescent, and Armin Mueller-Stahl, who was the father of Helfgott. They are as impressive as Rush. This is supposedly a true story of life of children prodigy pianist from Australia. As you can imagine, the music here is excellent. Even better is the film. Wow, this looks and sounds great on DVD. While not always pleasant to see, history is fascinating, very hard once you've started watching. The end I was a little off with the open socket astrology, but it is a happy for all parties and at least leaves the viewer feeling satisfied. Overall, a very intense, beautifully photographed biography.
SHINE (1996) **** Geoffrey Rush, Noah Taylor, Alex Rafalowicz, Armin Mueller Stahl, Lynn Redgrave, Sir John Gielgud, Googie Withers. Excellent Oscar nominated bio pic about acclaimed Australian virtuoso pianist David Helfgott (played by Rush equally brilliant (deservingly won the Oscar for Best Actor) as an adult, Taylor as a young man and Rafalowicz as a child prodigy) who have suffered anguish mental through his art in large part due to its dominant father (Mueller Stahl, nominated Best Actor in a role demanding but effective), which led to his nervous breakdown that nearly destroyed it. Poignant and beautifully directed by newcomer Scott Hicks (nominated for Best Director), the DVD film Shine never panders, preaches or offers no easy answers but a serious mental illness devestating clearly. Rush gives a bravura performance that deserves an ovation. Best sequence: the lead in trying accident Helfgott as the monumental challenge musical, Rachmaninoff Piano Concerto # 3, or well known as the "Rach 3."
A brilliant movie, an intense story, very well done and directed. One of my favorite movies ever. I think George Geoffrey was incredible in this film: Shine became Helfgot ... and did Mueller-Stahl in his role as father. Sir John Gelgud plays an important role in the drama as the teacher makes a difference in the best Helfgot. It is a tribute to the courage, love and music. A must for all lovers of music ... usually people emotionally. It can be very useful for teaching parents how to raise children with no talent and it shows how love can be overwhelmed at times dangerous to mental and physical safety of our children.
This is a good film: Shine in every sense, but means that most parents with strong points of view:). The story of a brilliant young pianist whose relationship with his father leads him to some kind of mental illness. Watchable, absorbing, brilliantly edited, very serious move, one of the few films that pays attention to audio accessories. Direction and wonderful acting. This is a good DivX film Shine seriously.
"Shine" is a pure joy for the eyes. Produced in Australia, which tells the true story of piano prodigy David Helfgott. Helfgott suffered a major nervous breakdown on the eve of an impending big race. The story is shown through a psychologically trying childhood, his teenage years when perfected his skills to stay in a mental asylum and their subsequent return to stardom. Noah Taylor and Geoffrey Rush (in a well-deserved Oscar-winning turn) Helfgott played during their adolescence and adulthood. Armin Mueller-Stahl is excellent as the abusive father (an Oscar-nominated performance). However, since the DVD film Shine several times. This is bad considering that the Shine movie is only 1 hour and 45 minutes. Lynn Redgrave's role is terrible, it's completely wrong for this movie. "Shine" is a good example of a near miss. The DVD film Shine is very good in almost all respects, but keeping these problems "Shine" as a masterpiece that should have been. 4 out of 5 stars.
When I saw this movie: Shine originally in the mid-90s, I was absolutely devastated throughout the first forty-five minutes. So much so, I was almost crying uncontrollably, much to the chagrin of which went with a friend. Time has softened the Shine film a lot for me, but still remains a powerful, tender and somewhat inspirational DivX Movie Shine about a piano prodigy who has taken a very tragic life. Geoffrey Rush is incredible as piano prodigy David Helfgott, and though the Shine movie is a kind of a stitch just before the sub Vanessa Redgrave (Helfgott about what made him so in love in a short period of time wanting to get married it?) is a very well done Shine film that I recommend to almost anyone, but especially musicians and music lovers. - Shelly
It is difficult to be an artist, so much talent and stirring internal demons as David Helfgott. Geoffrey Rush deserved Oscar for this role. He really brings the character alive and well at the hearing. Lynn Redgrave deserves a nomination for supporting actress for her performance as the woman who could become the love of the life of David. Googie Withers, one of Australia's best known actresses, Catherine loved played, her mentor and financier David in younger years. John Gielgud has a brief but memorable performance. I like the fact that this DVD film Shine was filmed in Australia and England. This Shine movie really looks at how mental illness and David triumphs over the odds. He was down and out and forgotten. Somehow when you hear your music, you remember how much we triumphed over the odds. Despite his mental breakdown in what would have been the beginning of an extraordinary career, he went down but not out. I had to recover and gradually work your way back to life. When David plays music, becomes tempered and for us. Many people have been where David has been and is still going through the pains of life. This movie: Shine is an inspiration to us all, artists, writers, artists, painters to get up and go up again. When he returns to play live in a small bar in Perth, you get chills on his spine. It's a great guy Shine Romance and you want to be in Perth, Australia.
